To specify the probe-path output relative to the probe tip or probe centre

Choose if the probe-tool coordinate reference in the NC output is independent from the milling-tool coordinate reference. This lets you match the coordinate reference used during probe calibration.

  1. Click NC Program tab > Edit panel > Settings.
  2. Click .
  3. On the Probing NC Program Options dialog, choose an option from the Coordinate Override list:
    • No — Use the same method as milling tools. This is specified from the Tool Value list on the NC Program dialog.
    • Tip — Measure probe-tool coordinates relative to the probe tip.
    • Centre — Measure probe-tool coordinates relative to the probe centre. The probe centre is the probe tip, offset by the tip radius in the direction of the probe axis.
  4. Click Close.
