PowerMill enables you to add to and modify your machine tool's .mtd file to improve collision checking. Within the .mtd file, you can:
- split the existing collision group into multiple collision groups that can be collision checked against each other.
- identify static components in the machine cell, such as walls and tables, to be collision checked.
- create and add components to an exclusion list to reduce calculation time, or to prevent PowerMill reporting false collisions that are the result of inaccurate modelling of the machine tool.
