Activating and deactivating solids

Many solid operations are performed on the currently active solid.

  • The active solid is usually the main component of your model
  • Only one solid can be active at any time
  • By default, the first solid you create becomes the active solid and other solids are created as inactive
  • If you activate an inactive solid, the currently active solid becomes inactive

In a wireframe or shaded wireframe view, the wireframes of active and inactive solids are coloured differently; the colours depend on the colour scheme you use. If there is no active solid in your model, all solids are shown in their true colour.

To make a solid active:

  • Select the solid, and click Solid Tools tab > State panel > Active.
  • Double-click the solid to display the solid feature tree. In the solid feature tree, an icon indicates the status of each solid:
    • indicates the solid is active.
    • indicates the solid is inactive.

To deactivate a solid, click its Active solid icon.

To activate a solid, click its Inactive solid icon.

  • Right-click the solid in the view to display its context menu. Select Active to activate and deactivate the solid.
