Working with Targets
Place targets to improve the accuracy of a scan.
Another benefit of a ReCap Pro subscription is the inclusion of advanced reporting tools for accuracy feedback. Targets are especially useful to improve registration in environments without a lot of point features, such as parking lots, long empty halls, tunnels, and landscapes. Targets for reporting can be placed with either checkerboard or sphere targets during or after the registration process. The tools are available from the main registration pane.
ReCap supports targetless scans, meaning that the application does not require targets at any point before, during, or after the registration process; however, you can identify targets used during the scanning process during manual registration.
Targets can be named as you go. ReCap automatically looks for and centers the target on-click for precise measurement.
Once targets have been identified and placed throughout, results can be accessed through the reporting tool.
ReCap recognizes your physical targets as long as they are in the standard identifiable format.
Working with Targets to Enhance Registration Quality
If you have used targets in your scanning process, you can identify these to get target reporting information and enhance registration quality.
You can enter the target mode by clicking the following button:
Clicking at the center of the sphere target or checkerboard target to get better result of target extraction.
Targets can be named as you go. ReCap automatically looks for and centers the target on-click for precise measurement.
When a new target is extracted, ReCap will provide a default name for the target. If ReCap detects that the same target has been extracted in other scans, the matching target name will be prompted by default.
If the prompted result is not correct, you can use input new name or use the drop down menu to select the matching target. During target extraction, you can check the target status by hovering on the scan location in the registration group:
Once targets have been identified and placed throughout, results can be accessed through the reporting tool.
