Use these best practices to rename factory and member files.
Rename Factory
Name subfolders containing member parts the same name as the Factory file name. This is so that when you rename a factory, the subfolder automatically updates as well.
If the subfolder for member parts is not set to the factory file name, Vault allows you to rename the subfolder. However, once the subfolder is named the same as the Factory file name, you cannot rename the subfolder again.
Rename Members
Standard and custom members are secure. Manually renaming them can cause issues with Inventor.
If a member file needs to be renamed without maintaining the family relationship, use Inventor to break the member's link before renaming the file.
