Generate a toposolid element from a toposurface in your model.
To generate a toposolid from a toposurface:
- Select the toposurface you wish to convert to a toposolid.
- Click Modify|Topography tabSurface panel Generate Toposolid.
- In the dialog, use the pull-downs to set the base level and the family type for the generated toposolid.
- Click Ok.
Note: The process of generating a toposolid from an existing toposurface is non-destructive. The toposurface will remain in the model after the toposolid is generated.
When using a toposurface to generate a toposolid keep the following in mind:
- Sub-regions of the toposurface will auto-generate toposolid sub-divisions. Some sub-regions may fail if they contain many loops. For example, a striped crosswalk created as one sub-region may fail to auto-generate.
- Site components (trees, parking elements, custom families) will need to be manually re-hosted. Railings will automatically be re-hosted to the toposolid.
- Sub-divisions will inherit the material of the toposurface sub-regions. The material surface pattern of the generated sub-division will be displayed. You may need to apply a visibility and graphics override to maintain the same appearance before the toposolid was generated.
Note: For additional information on making modifications to a toposolid, see the topics in the following section:
