Access Forma Tools

To use Forma tools in Revit, take steps to prepare your model.

Note: As a Forma Connected Client, Revit offers Forma capabilities that are part of a technology preview (tech preview), which means that it's new and continuously improving. Learn more.

To prepare your model for use with Forma tools

1. Make sure the model is a cloud model stored in Forma Data Management.

   It can be non-workshared (single-user) or workshared. Many Forma capabilities streamline collaboration workflows, so they are especially well suited for use with workshared cloud models.

2. Join the Forma Connected Client Tech Preview.
3. (Optional) If you have detailed survey data, geolocate the model using advanced geolocation.

   If survey data is not available, you can define a draft location during the next step.

4. Connect the model to a scenario.

To use a Forma tool

1. Open the model in Revit.
2. From the ribbon, start the desired workflow:
   • Order contextual data: Click Massing & Site tab > Model site > (Contextual Data).
   • Reference models in a scenario: Click Collaborate tab > Manage Models panel > (Manage Scenarios).
   • Perform wind analysis: Click Analyze > Forma Analyses > (Analyses & History).
