Forma Analyses and History

Perform Forma sustainability analyses and review past results.

Note: As a Forma Connected Client, Revit offers Forma capabilities that are part of a technology preview (tech preview), which means that it's new and continuously improving. Learn more.

The current release supports microclimate analysis and two types of wind analysis: wind estimate and wind simulation. Future updates may support more types of analysis, such as daylight and solar energy analyses.

Before performing Forma analysis, prepare the model to access Forma tools.

To access Forma analyses and history

1. Click Analyze tab > Forma Analyses panel > (Analyses & History).

   The Analyses & History panel displays.

2. To start an analysis, under Run analysis, select the desired analysis type.

   A window or panel opens where you can define analysis parameters, such as the area to analyze.

   For details, see the instructions to perform a wind estimate, wind simulation, or microclimate analysis.

   Tip: Before running an analysis, synchronize changes with the central model (or for a non-workshared model, save changes to the cloud). This step ensures the analysis is performed using the latest design in the model. It also preserves the analysis results in Forma Data Management and associates them to a version of the cloud model.
3. To review past analysis results, under Analysis history, select the desired result.

   The list displays results for all previous results for the current scenario.
