Connecting your model to a Forma scenario enables connected workflows and access to Forma tools.
If your model is not connected to a scenario when you try to use a Forma tool, you are prompted through the process.
As an alternative, you can take the following steps to connect the model to a scenario before using Forma tools.
To connect a Revit model to a scenario
- Open the model in Revit.
- Click Collaborate tab > Manage Models panel >
(Manage Scenarios).
- In the Manage Scenarios panel, click Connect.
If the Forma project for the model contains existing scenarios (and you have appropriate permissions for them), those scenarios are listed in the panel.
- To specify the scenario to connect to, do one of the following:
- Select a scenario from the list.
- Under New Scenario, enter a name.
- Click Next.
- If prompted for a
geolocation:
- Click Set draft geolocation.
- In the dialog, specify the location and related information.

- Click OK.
If you decide that you need to adjust the geolocation before proceeding, click Change draft geolocation, and change it as needed.
- Click Connect to scenario.
In addition to connecting the model to the scenario, Revit performs a Save (for a non-workshared cloud model) or a Sync with Central (for a workshared model).
- Click Close.
After the model has been added to a Forma scenario, the following icon displays after its name in the title bar and in Revit Home > Recents. You will also notice the icon in other places, such as the Manage Links dialog.
