This tutorial uses Thermal analyses to let you practice interpreting results.
The radiator should provide heat without causing injury. Burns can occur in less than 1 second, from radiators whose temperatures exceed 70 C. You simulate the temperature of the original radiator design to determine if the design is safe. You then adjust the size of the radiator fins, on a simulation model in the Simplify environment, and analyze the new model to determine if the temperature now meets the requirements.
In this tutorial, you
Create a Thermal study to determine the temperature of the radiator fins
Eliminate geometry that is irrelevant to the analysis, to reduce the analysis time
Apply thermal loads to simulate the effect of 75 C water flowing through the pipes, and loss of heat to the environment
Create a new simulation model with extended fins, to find a design that meets the temperature requirements
Set up the analysis on the new simulation model in an identical manner to the first analysis, to ensure a direct comparison
Compare and interpret the results of the two thermal studies.
