This area of learning content consists of a series of tutorials to walk you through the simulation process for each analysis type in Fusion. The tutorials demonstrate real-world finite element analysis (FEA) situations. Using the provided CAD models, familiarize yourself with the simulation tools and general workflow habits.
All simulation studies run on the cloud, and rely on cloud computational services to do so.
Each tutorial shows you how to locate and open the required Fusion model dataset. You cannot modify the source files; they are read-only. You will create and work with a personal copy of each tutorial dataset.
Static stress analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you run two analyses and compare the results of a static stress analysis on a fully constrained, and a partially unconstrained connecting rod assembly, to see how the Remove rigid body modes option stabilizes the model. |
Thermal analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you run a thermal analysis on a radiator to determine if it meets safety requirements. You edit the simulation model and run another thermal analysis and compare the results of the two designs. |
Shape Optimization analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you perform a shape optimization analysis on a robot gripper arm to try to reduce the material by 40% and still ensure that it can withstand the compressive loads on the gripping surface. You modify the geometry in the Design workspace and run a static stress analysis on the new design. |
Modal frequencies analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you run a modal frequencies analysis to determine the frequency of the first fundamental vibration mode of a tuning fork. You edit the model in the Design workspace to tune the pitch of the tuning fork to 440 Hz. |
Structural buckling analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you run a structural buckling analysis on a plastic table to determine if it buckles under the applied load. You change the material and retest, to see if you can eliminate buckling without redesigning the model. |
e-cooling gif | Electronics cooling tutorial In this tutorial, you run an electronics cooling analysis to see if ....... |
Injection molding simulation tutorial In this tutorial, you run an injection molding simulation to see if the hedge trimmer model can be injection molded to produce a quality part. You change the injection location and increase the thickness of a couple of problem ribs and retest, to see if the modifications improve the outcomes. |
Thermal stress analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you modify geometry on the simulation model to create a 1/8th variant of a disk brake rotor model, so you can use symmetry to save time and effort. You apply constraints and loads and analyze the model to determine if the brake rotor yeilds as a result of the loads. |
Nonlinear static stress analysis tutorial In this tutorial, you select a material from the database that exhibits nonlinear behavior, and run a nonlinear static stress analysis on a highly loaded tapered beam to see if it can support the load. |
Dynamic Event Simulation tutorials In this series of tutorials you learn how to set up dynamic analyses to see the effect of an event over time. You learn how to set up constraints and loads for different situations, which you can extrapolate to your own model. |
Quasi-static Event Simulation tutorials In this tutorial you learn how to examine the stresses experienced by a quarter symmetry copper billet subjected to a ramp load. You learn how to set up constraints and loads for different situations, which you can extrapolate to your own model. |
