Model Browser

The Model Browser provides complete control of all the elements of the model. You can open the Model Browser at any time to get up-to-date information on each object.

The list of elements and their properties are displayed as a table. The set of displayed properties can be customized by adding or removing columns.

You can use the Model Browser to control the properties and the visibility of elements within a model.

Sort the elements of the model

The list of the model elements can be filtered:

  • By single part.
  • By assembly.
  • By preliminary part.

Control the elements display

You can isolate an element or a set of elements of the model by selecting the corresponding lines and clicking Isolate.

Additionally, the elements of the current model view can be displayed.

Select elements

You can use the Model Browser to select elements from the model.

  • Select an element by selecting the corresponding line from the Model Browser.
  • Select a set of elements from the model by selecting the corresponding lines from the Model Browser. To select several lines from the Model Browser, press and hold CTRL as you click the desired lines.
  • Select a set of elements based on properties.

Edit element properties

You can edit the properties of an element by selecting the corresponding line from the Model Browser and turning on the editing mode (enable Edit properties).

Note: In a regular model, the properties of the elements created by connections cannot be modified from the Properties dialog box. Their properties are displayed in grey in the Model Browser and cannot be modified.

Access the Model Browser

Access the command

In the Selection tool palette, (Model browser).

Command line: _AstModelBrowser

The Model Browser dialog box appears.
