PDF Sheet Settings

Vector v Raster

Sheets should be generated from their original design software down to a PDF vector format for optimal OCR readability.

See the sheets authoring guide table to view the OCR functions supported for vector and raster PDFs.

DPI settings

When exporting drawings from your design software to PDF, select an appropriate image quality of 150 DPI or higher, without significant compression artifacts.

Gridlines

If your sheets need to have gridlines, it’s important to use a different shape such as a hexagon, square, or oval shaped icon to prevent linking them like callouts.

Another recommendation to help prevent the automatic linking of these shapes is to make sure the numbers that you place inside the shapes do not overlap with the actual sheet names.
