ARRI ALEXA Open Gate (MXF & QuickTime)

Note: This is not a new feature but a change in default settings.

Open Gate files from ARRI ALEXA cameras have a resolution container larger than the sensor area. This mismatch is the reason why ALEXA Open Gate footage sometimes displays black pillars on either side of the image.

To prevent the display of these black columns, MediaHub Format Option Image Pixel Space Window is now set to Full Aperture by default. This applies to both MXF and QuickTime movie formats.

Note: This option applies to all .ari files with Pixel Space Window metadata, and because this option was disabled in previous releases, .ari content might look different .

Panasonic DVCPro HD (Thin Raster) (MXF)

Note: This is not a new feature but a change in default settings.

The MXF format option Scale To Full Resolution used to adapt the resolution of Thin Raster media files (144x1080) to Full HD (1920x1080). This option is now replaced by the Pixel Space Window option, but the behaviour remains the same.

To see 1440x1080 media at 1440x1080 resolution, disable Clean Aperture.

This change does not impact content imported with previous versions of Flame Family products, from Project Conversion, Network Transfer, or Archiving.
