Copying and Pasting Channels or Keyframes in the Animation Channel Editor

You can copy and paste animation curves or keyframes between animation channels.

Note: If an expression is applied to the selected channel, the expression is copied instead.

To copy and paste a selection of keyframes:

  1. Select keyframes on a curve, and click Copy.

Tip: Keyframes do not have to follow one another to be copied and pasted to another curve.
  2. Drag the positioner to a new frame.

  3. Select the curve, and then click Paste.

The keyframes are pasted and set in the current frame. If you copied more than one keyframe, the first keyframe is pasted at the positioner with the remaining keyframes added to its right.

To copy and paste a channel:

  1. In the channel list, right-click the channel and select Copy Channel.

  2. In the channel list, right-click the target channel and select Paste Channel.

The channel values you copied are applied to the selected channel.

You can copy and paste an animation channel group as long as the target group has the same channels and groups as the one you copied.

To copy and paste an animation channel group:

  1. Right-click the group and select Copy Channel.
  2. Right-click the another group and select Paste Channel.

For example, in Action, you can copy the Scale group from an Axis and paste it to the Scale group of another axis. This works because they have the same channels. Trying to copy and paste the Camera group to the Scale group does not work because the two groups differ in the type and number of channels.
