Node Bins

Improvements have been made to the Node Bins:

  • Some Matchbox shaders included with Flame like A2Beauty and MasterGrade are now available from the All Nodes and Custom bins.
  • Matchbox nodes can be added to and removed from Custom bins.
  • An ML bin containing all tools offering at least one machine learning model is available.

Create, Modify, and Sever connections from the Explorer's Inputs tab

All nodes with at least one input socket in Batch, Batch FX, and Modular Keyer have their inputs listed under the Inputs tab of the Explorer.

Using this table, connections to the node's input sockets can be created, changed, or severed, making it possible to modify what is input into a node without using the Schematic view.

Table's Components

The table has three columns:

  • Input: All the input sockets of the current node.
  • Clip / Node: The clip or node connected to an input.
  • Channel / Output: Which channel or output of a clip/node is connected to an input.

Create Connections

By default, existing connections are listed in the Inputs table. Input sockets that do not have a connection show No Connection in the Clip / Node and Channel / Output columns.

To create a connection, click No Connection in the Clip / Node column and select a clip or node in the drop-down menu:

  • Clips and nodes with a current connection to the node are listed at the top.
  • Clips and nodes part of the same branch as the current node are listed in the Upstream Clip / Node submenu.
  • Other clips and nodes present in the Batch Group are listed in the Other Clip / Node submenu.

When a clip or node is selected, its primary output is selected by default in the Channel / Output column.

Modify Connections

To modify a connection, click in Clip / Node or Channel / Output cell of the input socket and select a different clip, node, channel, or output.

Sever Connections

To sever a connection, click in the Clip / Node or Channel / Output cell of the input socket and select Disconnect.

Define Default Render Destinations for the Render and Write File nodes

Use the options in the Destination and Workspace sections of the Batch & BFX System Preferences to select whether the destinations of new Render and Write File nodes are the Libraries, Batch Reels, or Reel Groups.

When the destination is set to Reel Groups, an extra option appears allowing the selection of the Topmost Reel, Bottommost Reel, or Default Media Panel Option.

  • Topmost Reel is the topmost reel in the selected Reel Groups.
  • Bottommost Reel is the bottommost reel in the select Reel Groups, excluding the Sequences Reels.
  • Default Media Panel Option is the reel selected as the Render Destination and Add to Workspace destinations in the lists available in the Media Panel tab of the System Preferences.

Enable / Disable Nodes from the Context menu

Render and Write File nodes can be activated or deactivated using the Enable and Disable options in their respective context menus.

This option complements the existing ones:

  • Select Enable All or Disable All in the Nodes drop-down of the Render List.
  • Use the Toggle Node Bypass Status keyboard shortcut in the Schematic view.
