Output window

This window lists errors, warnings, and information messages. These are identified by the following symbols:

Warning message
Information message

The window is opened when you right-click a run in the Model Group window and select Open validation results.

Note:
  • Any nodes containing errors (rather than warnings or information messages) are highlighted in the GeoPlan window.

  • The Output window is a dockable window. For details of what you can do with these windows, see Using dockable windows.
Item Description
Columns

Code

The error, warning or information message number.

Single-clicking an entry in this column highlights the corresponding network object on the GeoPlan window.

Double-clicking an entry in this column opens the associated grid view, with the cursor on the relevant field.

Priority

A priority level of 1 is set for an error. Priority level 2 is set for a warning.

When carrying out engineering validation you can set priority levels of 3 or higher for each validity check.

Object Type

The type of network, baseline or live data object.

Object

The unique name of the object causing the problem.

Name The display name as set on the Display Names dialog.

Field

The field where the value is invalid, missing, or outside recommended ranges.

Message

A description of the problem.

Context menu
Go to property page Displays the associated property page.
Go to grid view

Displays the associated grid view.

With a grid view open, you can select Network Next error (F4) or Network Previous error (Shift-F4) to move between the errors and warnings in the grid view. Alternatively, you can select another error or warning by double-clicking another item in the Output window.

Column widths Set by dragging the join between columns in the header area.
Column sorting

Clicking a column header sorts by that column.

Clicking the column header again reverses the sort order.
