The closest point constraint provides a quick way to calculate the closest point on a mesh, NURBS surface, or curve, relative to an input position. You can use the constraint simply to calculate and view the closest point information, or you can have the constraint create and constrain a locator to the mesh, surface, or curve to mark the closest point.
