    Note:

Make sure that the P&ID tool palette is displayed in your drawing and that the active tool palette tab is the one where you want to add the new component.

  1. In the Project Setup tree view, expand P&ID Class Definitions.
  2. Continue to expand the list until you locate and click the off-page connector (Non Engineering ItemsConnectorsOff Page Connector).
  3. Right-click Off Page Connector. Click New.
  4. In the Create Class dialog box, enter a name for the new off-page connector. Click OK.
  5. Expand the Off Page Connector node, and select the new off-page connector.
  6. On the Class Settings pane, under Symbol, click Add Symbols.
  7. Navigate to the drawing that contains the symbol you want for your new off-page connector (for example,OffpageTemplates.dwg). Click Open.
  8. In the Add Symbols - Select Symbols dialog box, select the block you want from available blocks and add it to the selected blocks. Click Next.
  9. In the Add Symbols -Edit Symbol Settings dialog box, enter a symbol name and change the properties that make the new off-page connector unique (for example, you can change the color). Click OK.
  10. On the Class Settings pane, under Symbol, make sure the style you just created (in this example, OffPageConnectorStyle2) is displayed. Click Add to Tool Palette.

The new style is added to the active tool palette. It can be used just like the other default tools provided with the program and is included in reports.
