Surface Analysis options

Use the Surface Analysis page of the Options dialog to specify the settings for surface analysis:

  1. Click File > Options > Application Options > Tools > Analysis > Surface Analysis.
  2. Use the following options to specify the surface analysis settings:

Undercut Shading

Use these options to set the parameters that define if a surface is considered undercut:

  • Draft angle — Enter a value between +90 and -90. The default value is 0.
  • Draft warning angle — Enter a value, between 0 and 90, to show areas of the surface where the angle is close to the angular distance of the Draft angle.
  • Align with — Select an axis of the active workplane from the list or align the undercut shading with the Principal axis (controlled by the axis buttons on the Status bar).

Minimum Radius Shading

Cutter tip radius — Enter the cutter tip radius between 0 and 20. The default value is 5.

Surface Cursor Inspection

Use these options to specify the data that is displayed when inspecting a surface.

Curvature Shading

These options determine what is displayed when using curvature shading.
