- An unknown error occurred while starting the job.
- Item conflict
- Access Denied
- Timed out
- The job has been scheduled but has not yet begun to execute.
An unknown error occurred while starting the job.
CONTEXT:
Shown as the first line of an email report.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Rate limit reached on folder creation and/or file listing.
- May be a document that is missing required back-end data.
- The volume of files is too large (a combination of file size and quantity of files).
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Try running the task again. If a folder creation limit is hit, then the partially created destination tree will remain, so the limit will not likely be hit again. Try running the task multiple times.
- Split the task into multiple tasks of 200 or less total files/folders.
EXAMPLE:
Forge API rate limit exceeded.

Get reports Failed: An unexpected server error occurred.
CONTEXT:
Pop-up error box when saving a task.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Too much data returned or a data error.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Try running the task again.
- If the issue still persists, post on the Beta Forum.
EXAMPLE:
There was an error saving the task.
CONTEXT:
Pop-up error box when saving a task.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- A data error, usually caused by choosing an old A360 Team project as your source.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Try running the task again.
- If the source project is an older A360 Team project, updates will need to be made to it first to support copying the files with ART. Please contact your Autodesk representative.
Save task Failed: An unexpected server error occurred.
CONTEXT:
Pop-up error box when saving a task.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- You are missing required task options.
- The task is too large (too many files/folders).
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Try running the task again. Ensure all the required fields are selected as part of creating the task.
- Split the task into multiple tasks of 200 or less total files/folders.
EXAMPLE:
Save task Failed: Validation failed: -- Models[0].Objectid: The file is missing an object ID. It may be from an older unsupported A360 project. Severity: Error
CONTEXT:
Pop-up error box when saving a task.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- A data error, usually caused by choosing an old A360 Team project as your source.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- ART is unable to copy files from your project due to its age and initial configuration. Please contact your Autodesk representative.
EXAMPLE:
An unknown error occurred while starting the job.
CONTEXT:
Pop-up error box.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- You created multiple tasks that are scheduled to run at the same time.
- Rate limit reached on folder creation and/or file listing.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Modify your tasks to stagger the start times.
Item conflict
CONTEXT:
Error message for a specific file in the email report.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- ART is trying to overwrite a file with another one of the same name. This is usually because there were two files of the same name in different folders in your source project, but your task is configured to place all copied files in the same folder at the destination.
- There is already a file in the destination folder with the same name that is locked.
- A file selected in your task no longer exists.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Try running the task again. Conflicts may only occur on the first run.
- Unlock the destination file or save it to a different location, then update your task in ART.
- Verify that all the files in your task actually exist in your source project.
- Try removing special characters from the file name and try again.
EXAMPLE:
Access Denied
CONTEXT:
Error message for a specific file in the email report.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Permissions error, either reading from the source or writing to the destination.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Verify your user permissions. See the Permissions Matrix page for more information.
EXAMPLE:
Timed out
CONTEXT:
Error message for a specific file in the email report.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- The Autodesk Design Automation service (part of the Autodesk Platform Services / Forge) had a long queue time.
- An unhandled exception that caused the process to fail.
- An issue with the RVT file.
STEPS TO TAKE:
- Try running the task again.
- Remove the file from the task and then try running it again to isolate if there is an issue with that file.
EXAMPLE:
The job has been scheduled but has not yet begun to execute.
