Get started with administration
As a Tenant Administrator, you have access to many different settings and options that control the behavior of your tenant and the objects within it. This page summarizes how to locate the Administration page, what you can find in each of the different sections, and where to go from there.
Access the administration

Click the down arrow beside your profile image or initials.
Select Administration from the menu.
The Administration page opens.
Administration page overview
The Administration page is organized into six sections:
- Engineering - In this section, you'll find settings to help you manage your engineering data, including item numbering rules, item attributes, categorization, and tenant properties that control many behaviors throughout your tenant.
- Business Processes - This section is where you manage and configure workflows and business processes that govern the lifecycle of many of the objects and processes within your tenant to adhere to your organization's established processes.
- Customers - Use this section to add and manage your customer list. Every project must be connected to a specific customer and this enables you to search for projects related to specific customers.
- Users - Use this section to manage all users and user teams within your organization. You'll also find sections to manage your external suppliers and manufacturers.
- Divisions - Divisions enable you to divide your tenant if your organization is spread across different divisions in different locations who may or may not need to collaborate with each other.
- Custom reports - Use this section to create and upload your own custom reports that your users may use throughout the Upchain web interface.
Where to go next
As you can see, there are many settings that you can configure to get your tenant to where it needs to be for your organization. To get started, we recommend you explore the following two areas first:
- Engineering - This section is a good place to start exploring to become familiar with how your data will be managed and appear in your tenant. In particular, configure how your items will be numbered when they are created, configure any additional attributes that you know you'll need, and consider setting up categorization so that users can begin categorizing the data as it is created.
- Users - This is also a key section where you will invite the rest of your organization to your tenant so that they can begin working and collaborating on projects.
