Overview

The 23.5 release of Upchain is being progressively rolled out over the course of several weeks. Fixed and new issues are summarized here by date.

Upgrading the CAD Plugin

You may upgrade your CAD Plugin to 23.5.2.0010 to receive the newest capabilities. Upchain Web 23.5.2.0001 is backward compatible with the CAD Plugin version 22.2.

The latest version of the Upchain CAD Connector is available for download on the Plugins page immediately following the service update made to the maintenance window.

SOLIDWORKS

• Fixed an issue where checkin was failing for a drawing files with a message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

CAD

• Fixed an issue in the cBOM view where you couldn't select a model for checkout when a drawing attached to the same item was already checked out.
• We have improved the checkout operation when multiple drawings are assigned to the same item. If the tenant property drawing.edit is enabled and you check out a model from the cBOM or item view, all associated drawings are checked out as well. This prevents the situation where translations are not generated for some drawings that were not checked out.

Workflow

• Fixed an issue where a change request was failing due to incorrectly generated versions of the translations attached to the item. Previously, the change request would fail with the error message: "Error while setting transaction ID to null for transaction {transactionId}".
• Fixed an issue with the Object Decision primitive where the rejection criteria did not work as expected and approval/reject commands appeared on all items.

General

• Fixed an issue where Oxygen Authentication with Swagger was not executing API calls.

• Fixed an issue where DWG and PDF translations were generated with incorrect name (file name contained stale revision number).

SOLIDWORKS

• Fixed an issue where outdated external references would prevent a drawing from being imported along with its corresponding model after the Copy > Clone function was used.

INVENTOR

• Fixed an issue where cBOM refresh was failing due to a shared component being suppressed in one place and unsuppressed in another.
• Fixed an issue where the selected item type was not correctly shown on the item after initial file registration using the 'Create item' function.

CATIA

• Fixed an issue where the PDF file created during the change request process had incorrect scaling, resulting in a low-quality output.

CAD

• Fixed an issue where the BOM Wizard failed to grey out parts/subassemblies for items that were removed from the eBOM.
• Fixed an issue where the Advanced Search window would hide behind the plugin application when the focus was shifted to another window. Now, the Advanced Search window always displays on top of the CAD plugin and CAD application.
• Since the Quick Search does not search by item description, the text in the search field has been updated to 'Search by item name or number'.

General

• Visualizations are now generated correctly for released items.
• Drawing attribute codes are now populated when the top-level item does not have a CAD file linked to files associated with its child items.

Administration

• New customers are now able to automatically create tenants. Click here for more information.
• Tenant Administrators are now able to set user accounts to inactive.

Interface

• When importing an electrical BOM, if a mechanical item already exists with the same Manufacturer and Manufacturer Item Number as the item specified in the Excel spreadsheet, the item type now changes to a Purchased ElectroMechanical Part upon import.
• Importing electrical CAD data no longer causes a "File already exists" error.
• The Advanced Search now returns the first 1000 results it finds and informs you if there are more results than this.

Workflow

• You may no longer add or remove phantom files from an item in a Change Request.

Plugins

SOLIDWORKS

• When downloading the model and drawing from a released item, the Latest Working filter provides the same file versions regardless of whether the download was initiated from the model or drawing.

CAD

• The BOM Wizard no longer allows you to resolve child item anomalies positively (check mark) if the parent item anomaly is resolved negatively (X) or is unresolved (?).

General

• AutoCAD title blocks are now correctly populated during a check in and release.

Interface

• Tenant Administrators may now permanently delete an item version in development from their tenant. Read more about this new feature here.
• The eBOM bulk export function now handles up to 30000 items.
• We have improved the UI surrounding AutoCAD visualization availability.

Plugins

AutoCAD

• The PDF file generated by the plugin during the check-in process no longer contains the Model page.

CAD

• The option to download files for released items that do not have any CAD files attached no longer appears in the Quick search results.
• We have improved translation (localization) accuracy and added missing translations previously only shown in English.

Administration

• We have added the 'Removed Parts list' parameter to Change notice reports.
• You may now upload a Project Details report in the Custom reports section of Administration.
• You may now change a character from lower case to upper case when editing the filename.pattern tenant property.
• The tenant property redownload.files.to.home.folder now adds an 'Overwrite' option to the right-click menu in the CAD plugin to enable you to overwrite files in the home folder.

General

• French language is now supported in the web and CAD plugins.
