To Create Offset Points

You can offset point features (devices and structures) from lines and other points using the transparent command 'offsetpt.

1. Click Home tabElectric Overhead panelPlace PolePlace Pole or any Electric Underground or Electric Overhead option that creates a design point feature.

   You can also start the command from the Feature Library, the Model Viewer, or the command line.

   The command line displays the following prompt:

   Digitize features of the 'Pole' class (geometry class: 'Structural Point':

2. Enter 'offsetpt and then press ENTER.
3. Select the object to offset from.
4. Click to specify the offset distance.

   Construction lines indicate available locations to position the point. If you are offsetting the point from another point, a construction circle indicates the offset distance.

   The command displays the following prompt:

   Specify insertion point or [Offset]:

5. To offset from an additional object, press o and then press ENTER.
6. Click the desired position along the construction line or circle to create the point. If you are using multiple offset objects, available insertion points are indicated.
7. Press ESC to end the command.
