Microcellular core-back simulation
The microcellular core-back technique enables you to decrease the density of microcellular foaming parts, compared with traditional microcellular injection molding. In this 2017 release, you can simulate the microcellular core-back technique, where foaming is triggered by opening the mold at the end of the packing phase.
Anisotropic materials for part inserts and cores
Anisotropic materials for inserts in injection overmolded parts expands the scope of material choice from traditional isotropic metals and transversely isotropic plastics to emerging new materials such as fiber reinforced composites. These new materials can provide a significant reduction in product weight and environmental costs.
Confidential material data
Material manufacturers can now hide confidential material formulation information, specific material characteristics, or model coefficients, for materials stored in the databases. The data is included in the databases and used in the calculations, but is represented in the databases by the word Confidential.
Automated PowerPoint reports
Use the custom report script to create customized PowerPoint reports, automatically.
Customizable, dockable ribbon
To maximize the efficiency of your workflow, and reduce the number of mouse clicks, you can now create new ribbon tabs, or new panels on existing tabs, to include the commands you use most frequently.
Animated ToolClips
Some new buttons in the ribbon have short animations, called ToolClips. The help illustrates the functionality of the command.
