To Insert a High or Low Level Point on a Feature Line

You can insert a high or low level point onto a feature line, survey figure, plot line, or 3D polyline.

This command inserts the break point where two gradients intersect. Specify the gradient or slope ahead from the start point and back from the end point.

  1. Click Modify tabEdit Levels panelInsert High/Low Level Point Find.
  2. Select the feature line or other object.
  3. Select the start point and the end point of the span that you want to add the point to. These points can span multiple feature line segments.

After you select the start and end points, an arrow is displayed at the start of the span. The command line displays the start and end levels and the distance between the start and end points.

  4. Enter the gradient (or enter Slope and specify a slope) from the start point.

Enter a positive value to gradient up or a negative value to gradient down.

  5. Enter the gradient back from the end point.
Note: If an intersection cannot be found with the entered values a “No solution found” message is displayed.
