2D Maps

2D Maps are two-dimensional images that are typically mapped onto the surface of geometric objects, or used as environment maps to create a background for the scene. The simplest 2D maps are bitmaps; other kinds of 2D maps are generated procedurally.

Coordinates Rollout (2D)
Adjusts coordinate parameters to move a map relative to the surface of the object to which it is applied as well as other effects.
Noise Rollout (2D)
Adds random noise to the appearance of a material. Noise randomly alters pixel-level UV mapping by applying a fractal noise function.
Autodesk Bitmap for Autodesk Materials
A bitmap provided as a map for many Autodesk Materials.
Bitmap 2D Map
Applies the selected bitmapped image as a texture map.
Camera Map Per Pixel Map
Projects a map from a camera to aid in 2D matte painting: Render a scene, adjust using an image-editing application, and then use the resulting image as a matte projected onto 3D geometry.
Checker Map
Applies a two-color checkerboard pattern to the material. Checker maps are 2D procedural maps, with the default a pattern of black and white squares. The component checkers can be either colors or maps.
Gradient Map
Applies a color gradient to a material using two or three colors.
Gradient Ramp Map
Applies a highly customizable multi-color gradient that can be animated.
Multi Tile Map
The Multi Tile map allows multiple texture tiles to be loaded into the UV editor at the same time.
Normal Bump Map
Applies a texture-baked Normals map to a material.
Shape Map
Uses splines to create graphical textures that can be animated.
Substance Map
Applies Substance parametric textures optimized for exporting to game engines.
