Lighting Analysis Workflow

The Lighting Analysis plug-in for Revit is an easy to use and powerful daylighting analysis service that uses Autodesk Rendering cloud service. Follow these steps to get the best results out of the tool.

  1. Install the LA/R Plugin: You can find the latest version of the plugin from LA/R product page .

  2. Prepare your model:
    1. Select project location.
    2. Define surface and glazing material.
    3. Manage analysis planes.
    4. Set analysis model export content.
    5. Manage rooms and room parameters.
  3. Click Run analysis:
    1. Select Analysis type: LEED v4 EQc7 opt2, LEED 2009 IEQc8.1 or Custom.
    2. Select the levels that contain floor to analyze.
    3. Select resolution for draft or final quality.
    4. "Check Price" each time analysis options are changed.
    5. Manage the cost of your analysis.
    6. Click Run Analysis
  4. Generate and view results:
    1. Manage Analysis Visualization Framework (AVF).
    2. Change room parameters and re-Generate analysis. You do not need to rerun the analysis.
  5. If you are having problem in running your model follow the instructions in "Light Analysis Settings" to create log file and send it to us to debug the issue and help you solve it.
