The Design Line feature is used to create, modify, and manage 3D models in CADmep and ESTmep. For example, estimators can use Design Lines to import and trace over tender drawing on the screen. Draftsmen can use it to quickly route service runs, or to automatically change existing service runs from one system to another. Engineers can start with a blank sheet of paper or a building layout drawing, and quickly use Design Line to draw an initial design layout. The design can be priced for labor and materials, and without redrawing, a duct/piping system can be swapped out to an alternative system type for comparison; for example, from copper to steel.
Engineers can also use Design Line to analyse and check their original HVAC sizing after it has been drafted to fit the building.
