Power Automate Connector - FAQ

Can I get more information for a flow that has failed?

You can get details about why the Data Exchange flow failed by providing the Data Exchange URN and selecting the OUTPUT option. The details of the flow along with the common error messages are displayed in a browser.

  1. Specify the Data Exchange URN.

  2. Click Click to download.

How do I resolve the ‘Invalid Connection’ error?

If you encounter this error while editing a flow using a specific connection, you must reauthenticate to establish the connection again with the Autodesk Data Exchange Connector:

  1. Open the Connections page under Data > Connections.

  2. Search for the Autodesk Data Exchange connection, and click the More menu for more options on the connection.

  3. Select Switch Account to open a Sign in page. Enter your credentials again and reauthenticate your connection.

If I delete a Data Exchange, will it execute the ‘When a Data Exchange is updated’ trigger?

Yes. When you delete a Data Exchange, it will execute the When a Data Exchange is updated trigger that is linked to the Data Exchange. However, if you try to extract the properties of a deleted Data Exchange, you will get inconsistent output. We are working to resolve this.

Does a unit conversion inside ‘Get properties of objects by filter’ apply to all properties of the Data Exchange?

The current unit conversion will be applied only to Length, Area, and Volume properties of a Data Exchange. The conversions will not be applied to other properties of the Data Exchange. We are working to expand the property types supported for unit conversion.

Why are the Revit parameter values displayed in metric?

The Revit element parameter values are represented in metric irrespective of the units specified on the source model. You can use the Get properties of objects by filter action to convert the units as desired.

Why are the parameters only in English?

There is no localization support for parameter names currently. The built-in parameters will be available in English while the shared/project parameters will be available in the language used for their creation.

What values does 'Enumeration' return?

Parameters of type Enumeration will currently only return the numeric value and not the string value.

How many parameters do 'Get properties of objects' return?

The Get properties of objects action can return a maximum of 1024 dynamic parameter names. For Data Exchanges that contain more than 1024 unique parameters, the list will be truncated to contain the top 1024 parameters.

Why isn't 'Get properties of objects' returning any records?

The Get properties of objects action when used with the Latest properties option will not return records if only Type parameters have been changed. If the corresponding instance parameters have also been changed then both type parameters and instance parameters will be returned correctly.

Why do I see different parameters with the same name?

The Get properties of objects action returns all the possible parameters within the selected Data Exchange. In some cases, users may see different parameters which have the same name.

Why am I having problems accessing Excel or Autodesk Docs?

Sometimes there are problems accessing either Excel online or Autodesk Docs. Adding a new connection to the step often resolves the issue.
