Time series data, which is either part of the Infinity System or an ICM time series (TSD) object, can be linked to the following types of InfoAsset Manager network objects:
Linking network objects to data streams in an ICM TSD object enables the time series data to be reviewed graphically and in grid form within InfoAsset Manager, while linking network objects to external Infinity System data streams provides access to both historical and real-time network performance data which is displayed, via InfoAsset Manager, in the Infinity System Resource (grid view) and Track (graph view) pages.
The linking of network objects to data streams is carried out using the Time Series Data Source Grid which is accessed via an appropriate object's Property Sheet.
The time series data, which has been linked to an
InfoAsset Manager network object, is displayed using either the
button on the
toolbar, the
button from the object's property toolbar or by selecting the Time series data source option from an object's context menu.
To make the process of linking InfoAsset Manager network objects to data streams easier, it is possible to assign a particular set of time series data as 'default' at a database (global) and/or at a network level. When a network object is linked to a data stream, but a specific set of time series data is not specified for that stream, InfoAsset Manager first searches for the data stream in the time series data specified at the network level, and if it does not find it, InfoAsset Manager then searches for it in the time series data specified at the global level.
Linking time series data globally or at the network level is performed via the Time Series Data Source dialog.
