You can change the type of a network object after it has been created.
The object can be changed into any object that has the same underlying type (node or link). You cannot change a node type into a link type or vice versa.
Note:
- When changing object type, only data fields that are common to both types will be transferred to the new object. Data specific to the old type will be lost permanently. You will only retain data that is shared by the old and new types.
- If the object has associated control data, this data will be copied in the same way. Only data fields that are common to both types will be copied.
Caution:
- In the procedures below, you cannot undo the changes once you have clicked the OK button. A new object of the new type is created. Data fields shared by both objects, including the name, are copied from the old to the new object. The old object is then deleted.
- You may be able to restore the old object from the previous version of the network using copy and paste. Any changes made since the network was checked out cannot be restored. This method will not restore associated control data. Control data will have to be re-entered.
