What's New in Animation

The 2025.1 update includes various animation improvements and support.

Cursor-centered zoom in the Graph Editor

Zooming in the Graph Editor

You can now zoom in the Graph Editor Graph View based on the cursor location, which is useful in scenes with dense keys. (This behavior takes advantage of a similar improvement for Dope Sheet Editor in this update. See Dope Sheet Editor improvements for more.)

This cursor-centered zoom is now the default zoom behavior for the Graph Editor and the Dope Sheet Editor. You can revert to the previous behavior in the Graph Editor settings in the Animation Preferences.

Exposure and Gamma support for Playblasted animation

You can now control the gamma and exposure levels on a Playblast.

To adjust the settings, use the color management buttons on the Panel toolbar. The changes made to the scene in the Viewport are rendered in the Playblast.

Gamma and Exposure settings in the Panel Toolbar

Note: Playblasts using Stereo Cameras and the Camera Sequencer do not currently support Exposure/Gamma settings.

Time Slider Color Coded Key update

Before: Frame numbers hidden by Color Coded keys

This update corrects the placement of Color Coded keys in the Time Slider so they do not block frame numbers at certain zoom levels.

Now: Color Coded keys appear below key numbers
