Examine

Use the Examine command to determine the deflection at specific locations on the model.

The command (Result tab > Examine panel > Examine) is used to determine the deflection at specific locations on the model. The following figure shows the deflection at a location selected on the part.

The Examine command opens the Deflection Query dialog, which provides a breakdown on information for the node selected. When two nodes are selected, the distance between them is evaluated.

Often, you want to compare one study's results to another. When comparing results between studies, ensure that the same node numbers are used. Once you determine the node numbers, you can enter them in manually to ensure that you have consistent results.

Depending on the question you are investigating, you may need to look the deflection magnitude, or a component. For example, if you have set up an anchor system to look at parallelism, you may need to look at the Z-component to determine if the node location is in or out of tolerance.
