To add color to a part

Add and modify color information to triangles and meshes

Jump to:

Paint on triangles

  1. Select the part.
  2. Click Modify > Texture and color.
  3. From the toolbar, click Paint on triangles.
  4. Click individual triangles to set their color.
  5. Click Apply changes to apply the color to the part.

Paint on surfaces

  1. Select the part.
  2. Click Modify > Texture and color.
  3. From the toolbar, click Paint on surfaces.
  4. Paint the part with color as needed.
  5. Click Apply changes to apply the color to the part.

Paint on shells

  1. Select the part.
  2. Click Modify > Texture and color.
  3. From the toolbar, click Paint on shells.
  4. In the display, click the shells to be colored.
  5. Click Apply changes to apply the color to the part.

Read color from triangle

  1. Select the part.
  2. Click Modify > Texture and color.
  3. From the toolbar, click Read color from triangle.
  4. Click a triangle on the part which contains the color you wish to read. After you click the triangle, the color bar is updated with this color.
  5. Now you can apply this color to the part with the Paint on triangles, Paint on surfaces, or Paint on shells methods.
