Linear Static Analysis of a Fitting

This tutorial uses a fitting model to illustrate a simple linear static analysis. It introduces the following:

1. Autodesk Nastran In-CAD user interface.
2. Learning the basic steps to create and analyze a simple part model.
3. Using multiple load cases for a static analysis.
4. Displaying analysis results, post-processing.
5. The bracket is made of alloy steel. The back face is fixed and the load is applied at the first hole.

   

6. The units used in this analysis are SI units: meters, kilogram and seconds (MKS). The effects of gravity are not considered in this model.

The unit system in Autodesk Nastran In-CAD is very convenient. The Default units of an analysis are set to the global units in CAD. However, changing the units of an analysis will override the global units.
