When you install
Site Designer, the Site Designer tab displays in the
Revit ribbon before the Modify tab.
The tools available on the Locate panel have the same names as the tools on the Modify panel. Use them as follows:
- Locate. Add, create, or place site elements.
- Modify. Edit existing site elements.
Use the
Site Designer tools as follows:
- Import LandXML. Use a LandXML file from
Civil 3D to create the toposurface that you will modify using
Site Designer.
- Export LandXML. After completing a site design in the
Revit model, export it to LandXML format so you can import it into
Civil 3D for further development.
- Set Base Toposurface. Select an existing toposurface in the
Revit model to use as the base toposurface that
Site Designer manipulates.
- Toposurface Conversion. Convert a mass to a toposurface for use with
Site Designer.
- Soft Terrain. Create or modify a master plan (by grading the surface), building pads, berms, ditches, swales, and other features.
- Feature Line. Create or modify contours, lines, and edges of the toposurface.
- Point Wipeout. Create or modify an area of the toposurface in which to remove points to smooth the terrain.
- Street. Create or modify streets, including associated gutters, curbs, and boulevard clearing zones.
- Retaining Wall. Create or modify retaining walls and landscaping walls.
- Sidewalk. Create or modify sidewalks.
- Parking Lot. Create or modify parking lots. When modifying a parking lot, you can specify its grade, catch basins, and grade planes.
- Curb. Create or modify curbs and parking lot islands.
- Annotate. Annotate the view to indicate the grade and elevation of site elements.
- Reports. Calculate the gross surface area, gross volume, base volume, and sub base volume for retaining walls, streets, curbs, sidewalks, and parking lots on the site.
- Family Managers. Customize family types used by
Site Designer to create site elements.
- Settings. Define default values and set options for
Site Designer.
- About. Identify the installed version of
Site Designer.
