Create and Use Views
Create views to streamline your model review processes. Combine related models and 3D views, and use model property filters, object colors, the object table and more to select and visualize only the elements relevant to your current task.
Create and Save a View
All project members can create and save views by selecting models, opening them in the viewer, and customizing the displayed models.
Click the Models tool.
Select your desired models.
When your models have opened in the viewer, you can customize your view. The following table links to topics which detail the customizations which are saved to the view.
Customization Saved to view? Transform model (saved to the file) Filters Object table Object colors Levels* Section boxes* Model browser (show / hide objects) * Levels and section boxes present at the time of issue creation will be saved to the issue.
Once you've customized your view, click Save view at the top left of the viewer.
Tip: The Save view button has moved from the bottom of the left hand panel, to the top left of the viewer.Enter the following information:
Title: Enter a title for your view
Privacy: There are two privacy statuses:
- Public views are viewable by all project members in the coordination space.
- Private views are only viewable by the creator and project administrators.
Description: Enter a description for your view.
Click Save view.
The view is saved and accessible from the Views tool, or the views drop-down list in the viewer.
Use views
Use views to streamline your clash detection and issue resolution workflows, by focusing on a specific part of your project.
Views and issues
From the Views tool, open a view in the viewer.
From here you can:
- Open the Clashes
navigation tab to review only those clashes that involve the models or elements in the open view.
- Open the Issues
tab to review only those issues associated with models or elements in the open view.
- Open the Clashes
Click the X icon at the top-right of the viewer to return to the Views tool.
Views and clashes
Open the Clashes tool > Active tab to access the clash grid.
Use the drop-down list to filter the clash grid using a view.
Only those clashes that involve the models or elements in the selected view are displayed.
Tip: You can also publish views to the field for use in downstream workflows using the Save to Docs feature.
