A link is a connection between two nodes.
InfoWorks WS Pro classifies these into three types:
- Pipes: transport water from one node to another
- Pumping stations: add energy to the water flowing through them
- Valves: control the flow of water by reducing its hydraulic energy.
A real pipe does not necessarily correspond to a pipe in the model - the user has great freedom to create pipes, valves, and pump stations in the model to describe the operation of the real systems as closely as possible.
