The Mesh Editor

Once a Recap project contains at least one mesh model, the option to launch the Mesh Editor displays. Click to launch a mesh viewing and classification window to view all of the meshes that are associated with the Recap project.

The Recap Mesh Editor is used to view, classify and export all of the mesh models that have been created from the associated point cloud.

  1. Taskbar. The task bar is used for project wide actions, such as saving any changes to the project and exporting the model to 3D file formats.
  2. Model Browser. The Model Browser is where you can view and manage all of the model data that is contained within the Recap project.
    • Load and unload models into the view space.
    • Toggle the visibility of loaded models.
    • Add layers in which to classify the mesh mode.
    • Add groups to easily manage the classification of layers.
    • Delete models, layers and groups.
  3. Viewing Panel. Use the viewing panel to change how the model looks and how to interact with it.
    • Toggle the visibility of the grid.
    • Change the projection mode between Orthographic and Perspective.
    • Reset the view to a set of standard viewpoints.
    • Change the mesh selection mode between Window/single click and Fence selection.
    • Control the limit box.
    • Toggle the mesh rendering between RGB/Intensity texturing and classification color modes.
  4. Operations Panel. The operations panel contains the tools to classify your mesh model.
    • Clear the current selection.
    • Hide unselected surfaces.
    • Set the target layer for classification.
    • Classify selected surfaces into the target layer.
    • Classify and merge selected surfaces into a single object in the target layer.
    • Explode previously merged surfaces back into their original set of surfaces.
    • Delete selected surfaces.
    • Undo and redo previous actions.
  5. Properties Window. The properties window contains useful information about the models and mesh surfaces contained within the project.
