Import CAD files using Settings > Import data

Open the plugin settings
located near the bottom of the side-menu.
- The plugin settings pop-up window opens.
Locate the Data import section.
Click Import data.
The Data import window opens.
In the top-left of the window, navigate to where your CAD files are located.
When you select the folder that contains the CAD files, the CAD files are listed under the first table.
Select the files you want to import. Hold
Ctrl
and select if you want to select multiple CAD files.Click Add to data import. This adds the CAD files to the second table.
(Optional) If you find a file you do not want to import into Upchain, click Remove from data import to remove the selected CAD file from the second table.
Click Start import.
Upchain begins registering each CAD file to an item. Once completed, CAD files may remain open in your CAD system and will show in the cBOM view with a green lock to indicate that it is still checked out to you.
