Copy Design – Add Files

Add objects to the Copy Design list.

To add an object for a Copy Design operation, click File > Add Files from the toolbar. The Select Files dialog displays so you can locate the files that you want to copy.

Note: If dependent files are cloaked, the following message displays: "Some of the children of the added object are inaccessible." An administrator must provide access to the dependent files. After obtaining access, refresh the Copy Design main view.

You can select one file or multiple files by holding down the SHIFT or CTRL key.

Important: AutoCAD Electrical users should select the electrical project (WDP) and not just the drawings. In addition, all project support files (WDT, WDL, AEPX) should have the same name as the project file.

When you have selected all of your files, click Open to add them to the main view of the Copy Design interface. Files in the main view can be configured with restrictions or additional behaviors that apply only to the copy operation.

Important: Beware that all versions selected from the history pane are considered as historical versions and that includes the latest version of the file if they are in the same selected list. The relationship settings are different from those used when executing a copy from the main grid.
