Set Item Effectivity
Setting the effectivity date for an item is done in a revisioning workspace that is used to revise/release the item. If your site administrator enabled effectivity for the target state in the lifecycle map, you can choose an effective date for an item.
Go to the revisioning workspace that controls the release of the item for which you want to set an effectivity date.
Click the Linked Items tab.
Note: The administrator may have renamed the tab to something that corresponds more to your workflow, such as Affected Items.Click Edit.
By default, effectivity is set to **On Release**. If the lifecycle state has effectivity turned on, the effectivity date picker is available.- Select the future date at which the item will become effective.
- Click Save.
Even if effectivity is not turned on, an effectivity date is automatically selected for the item as the release date of the change order. This means that ALL items in the system have an effectivity date - either chosen or implied by the release date of the change order.
Note: Only a start effectivity date is selected. The end effectivity date is assumed to be the day before the next revision goes into effect. While this may be somewhat limiting in some cases, it ensures that there is continuity of effectivity as well as no overlapping effectivities of different revisions of the same item.
