Import Tab

Set the default importing behavior for 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) files.

File Specific Options

This section determines which file-specific options are enabled during import.

  • Import Metadata - Imports metadata, instead of excluding it.

  • Import Colors - Sets the default behavior for the import of colors on polygon mesh segments. This can result in a large number of different colored sub-meshes, instead of one large polygon mesh.

  • Import Textures - Sets the default behavior for the import of textures. When enabled, textures are imported.

Export Tab

Set the default exporting behavior for 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) files.

File Specific Options

This section determines which file-specific options are enabled during import.

  • Environment Geometries - Includes the default geometry switch in the exported file, when enabled.

  • Export Colors - Includes the colors on polygon meshes in the exported file.

Geometry Options

Contains the following geometry export options:

  • Meshes - Sets the default behavior to export meshes, instead of excluding them.

  • Surfaces - Sets the default behavior of exported surfaces. Choose from keeping surfaces as surfaces or converting them into meshes.

  • Remove B-Sides - Sets the default behavior to remove shapes and components set as B-Sides, when enabled. VRED defines B-Sides comparable to the No Show feature in CAD software.

  • Metadata - Includes existing metadata.
