Watch the videos and work through the tutorials in this section for a thorough hands-on introduction to Simulation Utility controls and simulation analysis.
The complete simulation process, including the import of one or more STL files, is covered in Tutorials 3, 4, 8, and 9. For most of the others, the process is shortened by opening a saved TIVUS project file.
Sample files for use with the tutorials are available in the Simulation_Utility_Tutorial_Files_2021.zip package from this Download Link. Expand the downloaded ZIP archive into a convenient directory from which you can import files into Simulation Utility as you need them.
If you want to preserve a set of unaltered sample files for reuse, bear in mind that when a tutorial begins with opening an STL file, or exporting a file from Netfabb, the user will later be prompted to save the project, at which point it can be saved in a separate folder, apart from the original sample file. But when a tutorial begins with opening a TIVUS project file from inside a folder of the same name (like Example_7/Example_7.tivus), results files from mesh generation and simulations will be saved back into the same folder. To save an unaltered set of these TIVUS files, it is best to do it before running through the exercises.
