Network preferences are network-specific properties that apply to a network. They are different from global preferences (or database-wide preferences), which apply to the entire database.
Network preferences are stored with the network and apply to all users.
By default, network preferences can be edited by all users. However, these preferences can be protected in order to allow only edits by owners (all owner roles. See User Permissions for more information) to be saved. For example, when user permissions are enabled, assigning a User role (Collection / Distribution / Asset Network User) to some users will prevent them from performing any actions that will modify network preferences.
There are a large number of network preferences. In InfoAsset Manager, it is possible, for some settings such as standards and choice lists, to override global preferences with network preferences. This explains why some settings will appear in both lists.
Click on the arrow below to reveal a list of InfoAsset Manager's main network preferences.

Copying / pasting network preferences
Most network preferences are copied and pasted whenever the network itself is copied and pasted.
Choice lists represent a special case and as such deserve careful attention. Network choice lists can be copied and pasted separately onto a network of the same type or to the database choice lists. Please refer to Merging (Copying) Choice Lists for further details.
