Z Heights dialog

Use the Z Heights dialog to view an individual Z height slice of a toolpath. Select a Z Height in the dialog list to examine the toolpath segments at a specific Z height.

To display the Z Heights dialog:

  • Click Toolpath tab > Draw panel > View by Z Height.
  • From the individual Toolpath context menu, select View Picked Z Height.

The Z Heights dialog contains the following:

  • Reference Z — Enter a reference Z value to view the toolpath segment nearest to the entered value.
  • Pick a Z height from the model using the mouse — Click to select and set a reference Z from a particular feature of the model.
  • Flats only — Select to view the toolpath associated with flat regions of the model.
  • Z Height List — Displays all the Z heights in the toolpath. The icons show the creation method for the Z height. Select a Z height in this list to display it in the graphics window.

    • Defined by Stepdown
    • Defined by Value
    • Defined by Intermediate
    • Defined by Flat
    • Defined by Reference Boundary
    • Defined by Reference Pattern
    • Defined by Reference Feature Set
    Note: Any Z height defined by a reference toolpath displays the Defined by option used for the reference toolpath.
  • Z — Displays the current Z height.
  • — Displays the difference between the current Z height and the reference Z.

To simulate tool movements at a particular Z height, right-click on the toolpath segment that you want to simulate, and from the individual Toolpath context menu, select Simulate from Nearest Point.
