GeoPlan Menu

The following options are available:

Menu item

Description

Set coordinate system

Enables the coordinate system of the current network to be changed. See Selecting the Coordinate System for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Toolbar: None

Set alternative coordinate system

Available when no map control has been set.

Enables the online map projection system of the current network to be set. This is a required step to be able to view the GeoPlan using web mapping services.

Selecting this option displays the Alternative Coordinate System dialog. See Viewing GeoPlan Locations and Objects on an Online Map for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Show Locator window

Switches the locator window on and off. The locator window appears in the corner of the GeoPlan; it shows the whole network with a red box to show the area currently visible in the GeoPlan.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Set as target

Sets the current GeoPlan Window as the target view when using multiple GeoPlan windows of the same network.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Clear all custom labels

Remove all custom labels from the current GeoPlan Window.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Toolbar: None

Find in GeoPlan

Displays the GeoPlan Find dialog, which used to search for network objects or objects in Additional GIS Layers.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Toolbar: GeoPlan

Keyboard Shortcut: None

Go to XY coordinate

Enables you to centre the GeoPlan View on a specified point, and zoom in or out on that point if required. See Find and Zoom Using XY Coordinates for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Tracing tools

Contains menu items that enable a number of traces for use in analysing network connectivity.

Description

Downstream trace mode

Invokes Downstream Trace mode. Click a conduit to trace all possible downstream paths from the selected conduit.

This also applies to selected excluded conduits if the Excluded object select tool or menu option is turned on.

Toolbar: GeoPlan Tools

Upstream trace mode

Invokes Upstream Trace mode. Click a conduit to trace all possible upstream paths from the selected conduit.

Toolbar: More GeoPlan Tools

Pipe direction tool

Invokes Pipe Direction Trace mode. Enables a check to be made on the direction of a selection of pipes. Click the downstream pipe of a current selection of pipes. The direction of pipes in relation to the downstream pipe will be tested.

Toolbar: More GeoPlan Tools

Connectivity

Lists details of all physically separate sub-networks within the model. Used to check that the model is fully connected.

Intermediate paths

Selects all paths that exist between two currently selected nodes.

Proximity trace

Enables searches for all nodes that lie within a certain distance of a pipe (to which the node is not connected).

Network isolation trace

Applicable to Distribution Networks only.

Selects all objects that cannot be traced to a source (i.e. a borehole, tank or surface source object) without the trace passing through a closed valve.

Pipe isolation trace

Applicable to Distribution Networks only.

Selects the nearest valves to a selected pipe(s) to be closed in order to isolate the pipe.

Long Section tracing settings

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Enables the settings that determine how links and nodes are selected for inclusion in a long section, when using the Long Section Pick Tool, to be changed. See Setting Long Section Pick Criteria for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

GeoPlan tools

Displays the menu items that are used primarily when working on the GeoPlan Window. These items are also available via the GeoPlan context menu and on the GeoPlan Tools and More GeoPlan Tools toolbars. See Toolbars for a description of the options.

Spatial bookmarks Contains menu items enabling creation and management of Spatial Bookmarks for the current network.

Description

Manage bookmarks

Selecting this option displays the Manage Spatial Bookmarks dialog.

Lists all Spatial Bookmarks for the current network and allows tasks including import, export, editing and deletion of bookmarks.

Add from view

Selecting this option displays the Spatial Bookmark dialog.

Create a Spatial Bookmark based on current view extents.

Add from selection

Selecting this option displays the Spatial Bookmark dialog.

Create a Spatial Bookmark based on current selection view extents.

Add by coordinates

Selecting this option displays the Spatial Bookmark dialog.

Create a Spatial Bookmark from user defined coordinates.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Export to AutoCAD DWG

Save the current GeoPlan / GeoExplorer window to DWG format. The view can then be opened and viewed in AutoCAD.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan Window or GeoExplorer View is the currently active window.

Keyboard Shortcut: None

Export to KMZ for Google Earth

Saves the active GeoPlan network with its current settings (properties, themes, display...) as a KMZ file for export to Google™Earth.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan Window is the currently active window.
