Network Menu

The following options are available:

Menu item

Description

Version control

Contains menu items that enable management of version controlled items.

Menu Item

Description

Update (get changes made by others)

Updates the current network with any changes committed by other users to the current database. If conflicts occur a warning message will be displayed. See Getting Other Users Changes for more information.

Toolbar: File

Commit changes to database

Enables changes made in the current network to be copied to the current database. The network will be updated with any changes made by other users. Any conflicts must be resolved before changes can be committed. See Committing Your Changes for more information.

Revert changes

Enables all changes made since changes were last committed to the current database to be discarded. See Undoing Your Own Changes for more information.

Resolve commit conflicts

Enables conflicts between changes made to the network and changes committed by other users to be viewed and resolved. See Resolving Conflicts for more information.

Show commit history

Displays the Commit History dialog.

Toolbar: None

Compare

Enables comparison of a network with another network, or with an earlier version of the same network. See Comparing Version Controlled Items for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Scenarios

Contains menu items that enable scenarios to be created and managed. See Scenarios and Scenarios Toolbar topics for details.

Description

Create Scenario

Creates a new scenario. Selecting this option displays the Create New Scenario dialog, where the name of the new scenario can be entered and where it can be specified if it is to be copied from the base network or an existing scenario.

Delete Scenario

Deletes the current scenario. The user will be prompted for confirmation.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Rename Scenario

Renames the current scenario. Selecting this option launches the Rename Scenario Dialog, which allows the user to enter a new name for the scenario.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Manage Scenarios

Manages scenarios. Selecting this option displays the Manage Scenarios Dialog. A large variety of tasks can be performed on scenarios from this dialog (creating a new scenario, deleting the selected scenario, merging scenarios, making a scenario as the base network).

Excluded objects grid

Displays a grid of excluded objects. Excluded objects are objects that are present in the base network but not in the current scenario. These objects are shown in light grey in the GeoPlan view of the scenario and their properties can be seen in this grid. The grid is organised in tabs to accommodate for each object type.

Restore selected excluded objects

Restores a selection of excluded objects. Selecting this option restores the selection of excluded objects in the current scenario. The user is prompted to confirm the restore action.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Restore excluded objects

Restores excluded objects. Selecting this option restores ALL the excluded objects in the current scenario. The user is prompted to confirm the restore action.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Scheduling

Contains menu items that enable scheduled task objects to be created, filtered and updated.

Description

Create scheduled tasks

Allows a new scheduled task object to be created. Multiple scheduled task objects can also be created based on a selection of assets. See Scheduled Tasks for more information.

Filter scheduled tasks

Allows a grid of scheduled tasks to be created according to values defined in the Scheduled Task Filter dialog.

Update scheduled tasks

Creates new tasks for completed existing scheduled tasks that are repeated at regular intervals. See Scheduled Tasks for more information.

Approve scheduled tasks

Allows users to approve, reject or put on hold a selection of scheduled tasks with the same approval level. Selecting this option displays the Approve Scheduled Tasks dialog.

Custom scheduling

Allows specification of SQL Queries to be run when creating scheduled tasks and/or updating completed scheduled tasks. Selecting this option displays the Custom Scheduling dialog.

Validate network

Allows checking of the network for missing values, errors and inconsistencies. See Validating Networks for details.

Availability: Whenever there is a currently active network.

Default validation rules

Displays the Default Validation Rules dialog.The dialog is used to set validation preferences for the current network.

Update from manhole surveys

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Updates existing manhole objects from associated Manhole Survey data. Creates new manholes from Manhole Survey data not already associated with an existing manhole object. See Updating the Network from Manhole Survey Data for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan or network Grid Window is the currently active window.

Update from CCTV surveys

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Updates network by creating nodes from CCTV Survey defect observation information. See Updating the Network from CCTV Survey Data for more information.

Update from GPS surveys

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Updates node locations from GPS Survey information. See Updating the Network from GPS Survey Data for more information.

Update from general surveys

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Updates asset location and condition information from General Survey information. See Updating the Network from General Survey Data for more information.

Update pipe condition from CCTV

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Updates pipe condition fields for the pipes in a Collection network from CCTV Survey condition grade data. See Updating Pipe Condition from CCTV Data for more information.

Calculate CCTV scores/grades

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Calculates CCTV condition grades automatically from defects information in CCTV Survey data. See Calculating CCTV Scores for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan or network Grid Window of a Collection Network is the currently active window.

Calculate manhole scores/grades

Applicable to Collection Networks with manhole coding standard set to CH2M HILL SCREAM™ or MACP.

Calculates manhole condition grades automatically from defects information in Manhole Survey data. See Calculating Manhole Scores for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan or network Grid Window of a Collection Network is the currently active window, and the manhole coding standard is set to CH2M HILL SCREAM™.

Calculate hydrant test flow

Applicable to Distribution Networks only.

Calculates values for the Flow and Water Used fields in the Flow Hydrants grid of the Hydrant Test property sheet form other values in the grid. See Hydrant Tests for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan or network Grid Window of a Distribution Network is the currently active window.

Identify current drain tests

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Identifies all the drain tests that have a status of current. See Identifying Current Drain Tests for more information.

Consequence calculator

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Calculates Consequence score values for pipes.

Migrate Survey Videos

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Migrates CCTV and manhole survey and defect video files, stored remotely or locally on a user's computer, as an attachment to the current database.

Import

Contains menu items that enable import of network data from external data sources.

Enables import of network data from a InfoAsset Manager snapshot file.

Enables the import of tasks from an InfoAsset Planner Geodatabase.

Import CCTV survey data

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Contains menu items enabling import of CCTV Survey data from various file formats.

Import Manhole survey data

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Contains menu items enabling import of Manhole Survey data from various file formats.

Import data from Autocad DWG

Enables import of network objects from AutoCAD DWG files.

Import asset/survey images

Enables import of images to asset and survey objects in the network via a csv file.

Import EACSD network data

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Import network data from an EACSD format text file.

Import SUFRIB survey data

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Contains menu items that enable export of network data to external data files.

Enables the network or a selection to be exported to a InfoAsset Manager snapshot file.

Enables export of the network to ESRI ArcMap Geodatabase format.

to MIF files

Enables export of the network to MapInfo (.MIF) file format.

to SHP files

Enables export of the network to ESRI Shapefile (.SHP) file format.

To XML File

Enables export of network data to .XML format.

Applicable to InfoWorks networks only.

Export to SWMM5

Enables the export of network data to SWMM5 file format.

Enables the export of CCTV Survey data and associated CCTV Survey images to a number of supported formats.

Enables the export of network data to external data sources.

Run add-on Used to select a menu item, which is associated with a Ruby script file, that is to be run as an add-on. See Running Add-ons for further information.

Run Ruby script Used to select a Ruby script file to be run. Displays a Windows Open dialog from which a file can be selected.

Recent scripts Allows selection of a ruby script from a list of previously run scripts.

Define branches

Applicable to Collection and Distribution Networks.

Enables division of the network into long sections by setting the Branch ID field of link objects.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

List all hyperlinks

Displays a list of all hyperlinks attached to objects in the currently active network. The list can be used to access the hyperlinked information.

Availability: Whenever a network view is the currently active window.

Clear ground model

Clear the Ground Model loaded onto the current GeoPlan View. No changes will be made to the Ground Model itself. See Loading a Ground Model on the GeoPlan for more details.

Name generation Used to set options for automatic generation of Node IDs and Link IDs based on coordinates or on a user defined pattern.

Network Summary

Enables display of a text view containing a summary of selected objects in the network, including number of objects for each object type and total pipe length.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan or network Grid Window is the currently active window.

Background network Displays the Background Network Dialog. The dialog allows selection of a network to be displayed in the GeoPlan Window as a background layer in conjunction with the currently displayed network.

Standards & choice lists

Displays the Standards and Choice Lists dialog. The dialog allows the CCTV and Manhole Coding standards to be set for the current network. Also allows choice lists to be edited

Pipe shapes

Applicable to Collection Networks only.

Displays the Pipe Shapes Editor used to view and edit pipe shapes for the current network.

Time-series data sources

Displays the Time Series Data Source dialog which is used to specify which time series data is to be used as a network default when linking applicable network objects to data streams.
