SWMM network data can be exported to files in the SWMM5 format using one of the following methods:
Either:
- Ensure that the SWMM network you want to export is open on the GeoPlan.
- Select Export
to SWMM5 files from the Network menu, and a Save AS dialog will be displayed.
In this dialog:
- Specify a file name for the file that the SWMM network is to be exported to.
- Select which encoding system is to be used to encode the exported text files from the Encoding dropdown list. Currently supported systems are ANSI, UTF-8 (default) and UTF-8 BOM.
- Click on OK to export the network data to the file.
The latest version of the current scenario will be exported as a SWMM5 file with a default file extension .inp. A comment is also added to the .inp file to indicate which type of encoding system was used for the export.
Or:
- In the Explorer window, right-click on the SWMM network that is to be exported.
- Select Export
to SWMM5 from the popup menu. The Select Network Version and Scenario dialog will be displayed.
- In this dialog, choose which scenario is to be exported from the dropdown list. Select which version of the scenario is to be exported by clicking on the # button.
- Click OK, and a Save AS dialog will be displayed.
In the Save AS dialog:
- Specify a file name for the file that the SWMM network is to be exported to.
- Select which encoding system is to be used to encode the exported text files from the Encoding dropdown list. Currently supported systems are ANSI, UTF-8 (default) and UTF-8 BOM.
- Click on OK to export the network data to the file. The file will be saved with a default file extension .inp.
A comment is also added to the .inp file to indicate which type of encoding system was used for the export.
When the import process is complete, a log file, which contains any errors or warnings, is displayed.
